The 2nd Annual Ninevolt Local Music Awards has been set for Sunday, March 11, 2001 at the Abyss in Virginia Beach. Last year’s inaugural event was a great success and gives us a great platform to build on for this years event. The Ninevolt Local Music Awards are a special night to recognize all the talented local musician’s who have contributed to the great music scene in Hampton Roads. This year’s event will be hosted by Bill Bass and Katrina Wright and will feature entertainment from 6 or 7 of the area’s top bands ( a confirmed lineup will be released at a later date) and some of the top local DJ’s. The ballot for the Music Awards will be posted in the next issue of the magazine and fans will be allowed to vote through March 7. Last year’s performers included Lucky Town, Rumblefish, Car 44, Slim, Annie Johnson & Rip Dizzy. Winners included Rumbefish (Rock Band of The Year), Lucky Town (Record of the Year), Car 44 (Hard Edge Band of the Year) and LunaC (new band of the year). The Reader’s poll in Ninevolt Magazine
